Product and method for dilation of structures in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

• The BougieCap allows for immediate visual control during bougienage. The tissue tension produced by the cap passing through the stenosis is made visible so that overstretching is easier to prevent.
• Due to the two-stage design, the dilation is performed extremely gently and precisely in millimeter increments.
• The success of the dilation can be assessed directly with the cap in place. Since the need to change instruments is eliminated, this procedure saves time.
• The cap has three holes at the distal end: the central hole in the tip allows for the use of the BougieCap with a guide wire (max. 1 mm/0.038 in). The two lateral orifices are designed for air insufflation, suction, and irrigation even with the cap in place.
• Due to the resource-saving design, there is up to 99 % less waste with the BougieCap as compared to conventional dilation methods*.
• BougieCap pack contains three caps of identical size, each in individual sterile packaging.
